L KIRK NURMI

FROM DEATH MURDER CASE OF JODI ARIAS TO AUTHOR, GETTING AND BEATING CANCER TO NOW SPEAKING AND WRITING BOOKS ON UNCHAINING YOUR GREATNESS!

The lurid 2013 murder trial of Jodi Arias, an Arizona waitress accused of brutally stabbing her ex-boyfriend to death in 2008, was a crossroads for former public defender Laurence “Kirk” Nurmi. Nurmi had just entered private practice when he took over as lead counsel for Arias in the case. By his own account, he was reviled for the defense strategy of portraying Arias’ victim as an abusive pedophile who was attacking Arias when she stabbed him. Nurmi has said he even received death threats from strangers following the widely covered trial. His own client eventually joined the ranks of Nurmi’s critics. After Arias was convicted, she gave interviews lacing into Nurmi for botching the case.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 26

ERIC J DOLIN

Set against the backdrop of the Age of Exploration, Black Flags, Blue Waters reveals the dramatic and surprising history of American piracy’s “Golden Age”—spanning the late 1600s through the early 1700s—when lawless pirates plied the coastal waters of North America and beyond. Bestselling author Eric Jay Dolin illustrates how American colonists at first supported these outrageous pirates in an early display of colonial solidarity against the Crown, and then violently opposed them. Through engrossing episodes of roguish glamour and extreme brutality, Dolin depicts the star pirates of this period, among them towering Blackbeard, ill-fated Captain Kidd, and sadistic Edward Low, who delighted in torturing his prey. Also brilliantly detailed are the pirates’ manifold enemies, including colonial governor John Winthrop, evangelist Cotton Mather, and young Benjamin Franklin. Upending popular misconceptions and cartoonish stereotypes, Dolin provides this wholly original account of the seafaring outlaws whose raids reflect the precarious nature of American colonial life.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 29

ROBERT L. MAGINNIS

Alliance of Evil establishes that without a doubt the United States and her allies are locked in a prophetic global confrontation on many fronts, a new kind of dual Cold War with the Russians and Chinese. The Russian Federation under a populist authoritarian leader seriously threatens the West ideologically, through cyber-space and militarily thanks to that country s heavy investment in sophisticated mass killing weapons. The People s Republic of China is a great power with global ambitions led by a new kind of authoritarian communist leader focused on rapidly growing the world s most populous nation economically and militarily. Together, China and Russia collaborate on many fronts to dominate the future world and that relationship could well become the catalyst that leads to the biblical end times
